Lissa Kiernan’s first book of prose, Glass Needles & Goose Quills, was awarded the Nautilus Gold for Lyric Prose and Independent Book Awards Gold for Cross-Genre book. Her first book of poetry, Two Faint Lines in the Violet, was a finalist for the Indiefab Book of the Year and Julie Suk Award for Best Poetry Book by an Independent Press. Individual poems have been nominated for the Pushcart Prize and Best of the Net. Her soundtracks have been adapted by filmmakers Othniel Smith and Marc Neys. She founded and directs The Poetry Barn and volunteers with Flying Cat Music.
