Four-Week Online Workshops
Four-week online workshops are asynchronous and correspondence-based, taking place in a state-of-the-art online platform. You have 24-7 access to your virtual classroom from anywhere there’s an internet connection and a device to receive it.
Each Monday at 12 PM EST, a new lesson and a writing assignment are posted. You will post a response to the assignment, and provide feedback for at least three of your peers.
Time is fluid in an online workshop; Some weeks, you may be inspired and available to write and post immediately. Other weeks, you may not be able to post right away. Because of this, our workshops are accessible for an additional two weeks after the workshop ends to give you plenty of time to take advantage of the readings, assignments, and peer-critiques.
Our teaching artists offer timely, detailed critiques on each of your poems, and offer suggestions, when a poem is ready, for potential publication venues.
The library is currently available on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10-5, and during events. We aim to provide local residents and area visitors with a free and accessible resource for discovering and reading English-language poetry. We also offer a book swap shelf.
Poetry Barn is limited to parking for ten cars. Additional short-term parking is available on the shoulder Route 28A.
If you need to cancel a registration, we will gladly provide a full refund up to one month prior to the workshop's starting date, and a 50% refund up to two weeks prior. If you cancel less than two weeks prior to the start of your workshop, we will try our best to accommodate you by exploring options for either a refund or applying the fee to another event of your choice.
