Poetry Barn looks to nature for inspiration and acts as a pollinator habitat for poetry and its sister arts.

A fiscally-sponsored project of Fractured Atlas, a 501(c)(3) organization, our mission is to nurture poetry education, inspiration, and appreciation. We do so by sponsoring workshops, retreats, research, roundtables, readings, events, and a comprehensive independent poetry library freely accessible to the public.

Nestled in the foothills of Catskill Park in Hudson Valley, we are surrounded by the protected lands of the Ashokan Reservoir, part of the New York City watershed.

History

Originating in 2007 as a group of far-flung friends who exchanged critiques online, Poetry Barn began offering online workshops to the public in 2011.

In 2015, we transformed into a state-of-the-art literary center located in New York's Hudson Valley.
