A pollinator habitat for poetry.

Poetry Barn’s mission is to nurture poetry education, inspiration, and appreciation by sponsoring poetry-related workshops, retreats, readings, and a comprehensive contemporary poetry library freely accessible to the public.

Nestled in the foothills of Catskill Park in Hudson Valley, we are surrounded by the protected lands of the Ashokan Reservoir, part of the New York City watershed.

A fiscally-sponsored project of Fractured Atlas, a 501(c)(3) organization, your donations are gratefully welcomed and fully tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law.

History

Poetry Barn began as The Rooster Moans Poetry Cooperative in 2007, and began offering its popular private online workshops to the public in 2011. In 2015, we transformed into a state-of-the-art literary center located in New York's Hudson Valley.
